Time for a new scoot. Should I get the 300?

Good scoot. Owned mine for over a year. So far no negatives, but it hasn't been used in winter. Some owners have had corrosion issues, but mine has been fine.

It's only $200 more than the 250. But it lacks a rack and also the cool digital speedo of the 250.

If it's only 1 more hp and a couple more lb-ft, seems like the 250 might be the sensible way to go.

But, I do love the black wheels...

FWIW I've got the Quasar 250 motor in my MP3. If it'll haul that hefty sled around with plenty of zip, I think you'll be happy with it.

No worries mate. Got to admit that if the deal is right then i'd go for the 250.
I do love my 300 and getting across town is a pleasure. It's quick off the lights and the ride quality is superb. Needs a trip meter and i might get a Givi box and rack for it.

I've had my 300 Super for around a month now. Absolutely love it. Lots of power. Very nimble. Fun to ride.

I thought about getting a 250 but everyone who has ridden both says that the extra power of the 300 is noticeable and gives it more low end grunt. I can't really compare the two (only rode a 250 once), but I can say for certain that the 300 has good low end power. Really lets you rip away from the crowd at stoplights.

I commute across town (SF) to work on it every day. Great urban transportation.

I like the old school dash on this bike. I ended up putting the rear rack/topcase on the scooter because I commute on it. I wish it had a trip meter. Not sure how to get around that.

I'm guessing that the 250 isn't going to be sold for a lot longer. Too much overlap with the 300. I think that's why they are selling the 250 with the rack - to help move them out to make way for the 300.

I'm sure you'd love either one.

A few local mag reviews I've seen.. on Sportcity 300, the BV 300 etc
(all using the new 300cc engine from Piaggio obviously) mention that
there's NO POWER increase from the 250cc quasar engine, but the
power is delivered at lower rpms, and there's more torque, also lower.

That said, MOST of them gained 2-3mph in to speed from 250cc versions
(we get a lot of piaggio powered stuff here, aprilia sportcity, piaggio carnaby
and bv/beverly, vespa, the Gilera Nexus, the Derbi Rambla etc..)

Well, found a nice 2008 Vespa 250ie used locally, so picked that up instead. Sometimes you make the choice, sometimes the choice is made for you.

My wife is looking to move up and on from LT 150, and really likes the classic lines of the new Vespas.

Indeed. Very similar to the 200GT I had, but I like the new instrument panel and the fuel injection.

The centerstand is also much easier to use.

As a bonus, the 250 came with a Prima pipe that has a nice deep throaty sound to it.

I had an ET4 as my reentry machine after being off motorcycles for 7 years. Never had a scooter, liked it, but it was too slow. The 250/300 is the ticket for me. I would love to get one, soon. Not to replace my Hawk, but to keep it company in the garage

You can only put pets that like 120 degree F saunas in the pet carrier.... unless you have a sticker. At which point you will be voiding your warranty.
