So my thought is to start a thread that comes up quickly for us new riders. With gas where it is I'm guessing that there will be a few of us.
-plan area rides and all of that other good stuff.

So, as a get-away, I decided to sign up for the Experienced Riders Course free of charge (well, ok, 20 bucks) through ISU this weekend. Really on a whim. It's now turning into a family trip where the wife and kids'll stay at the Super 8 or whatever to swim/have fun and Sat after the class we'll stop at the local children's museum. Just havin' fun.

-I wanted to but a nap seemed to take over my will power.

I learned "kinda" how to do a wheelie on my bike last night. The biggest thing was that i could not hold it for very long. .... i know its stupid , but c'mon its my first bike. Any thoughts

Did it last year by myself. 3 days. Not too much sightseeing. The thread's in here somewhere. Other fellas have done it and posted lots of pics- Cannonshot? I'll be up for another one in a month or so.

Well, when I did it, it was more of a get-away. I wasn't really into the tourist thing- just wanted to ride. I'd say that 5 days would be good. A full day in the UP making a nice loop to the top, some touristy shopping by the bridge, a day exploring some seasonal road loops in central lower MI. No rush. I guess it depends what you're looking to do. I like the idea of pulling into an Econolodge before sundown, shower, then hit a local pub type of thing. Good nights sleep, then up with the crack of Dawn. :evil That's just me.
