This thread is going to be where i post up my random picutres and videos of riding dual sport here in Oklahoma. Current bike is a 2000 klr650.

Here is the bike, 8k miles.

When i purchased the bike it was in good shape, but had been neglected a bit on some of the wear items. I replaced the fork seals and boots, filters and tires, valve adjustment and carb cleaned. I added the handguards, and a givi trunk. Its small, but holds as much as i need for now, if i need more i have saddlebags too.

First trip out i ran it over to Elk City, Oklahoma to the Kawasaki dealer to have some things checked out. I had been having a problem with it dying when hot and not starting back unless you held the throttle wide open. I had cleaned the carb, but the dealer said that they found a pice of dirt in it. Carb cleaned, valves checked and inline fuel filter added. Back on the road.

While exploring hwy 66 near Clinton, Oklahoma i found this old beetle on tractor tires. It doesn't look like its actually working, just staged. Either way its still pretty cool.

Next trip out i was near Clinton, Oklahoma. This is pretty spectacular considering the entire west side of Oklahoma is flat. :huh

factory kawasaki tank bag. it clips on to the sides and front of the tank and is fitted to the tank perfectly. its kinda floppy and only has 1 large compartment rather than being ridgid but it fits so well i don't replace it.

As far as the riding, we don't have some of the large forests with fire roads like what some states have. Most of Oklahoma is cattle and farm land so its a grid pattern and most is fenced.

You're going to have to come to the East side of the State for Forest, Hills and roads with curves instead of corners.:rofl

Pretty cool. My wife's grandparents live in the Sayre/Elk City area. Nice scenery up that way, much different than down here.

I don't miss that side of the state. I liked the people, but its just too dry and windy for me. At least up here we have trees and lakes and stuff.

Nice thread. I hope you can get down toward Ardmore and the Arbuckle Mts. I'd love to see what you can find down there. I was born there almost 60 years ago and have only been back twice. My first KLR was a 2000 also.

Old videos that i've been moving to my new youtube page. In this video i'm riding my drz400e that was converted with a kit from procycle.com. This is from the rideok.com urban dual sport. I was wearing slick street boots and standing with one foot on gravel. Bent the shifter a little bit. Feel free to laugh.

Another from the "urban dual sport" where i picked a horrible line and sunk down in sandy gravel mud. Feel free to laugh

Another old video. I had just test rode a bmw 650gs, then i almost got in a wreck. As you can see in the video, i am on reno facing east and stop at a traffic light. The traffic light changes quickly, and i proceed to turn left. A gray suv in the oncoming lanes goes through the stoplight and nearly hits me. In the vidoe it looks like i should have seen it coming way sooner, but remember the gopro has a wide angle lense. i guess i was looking left, into the turn.

Another on the crf250x at crosstimbers in okc. This one is on the blue trail where a tree had fallen over the trail. I was still pretty new to riding offroad when i filmed this, not that i've gotten much better. Feel free to laugh. If you like the videos, subscribe on youtube, there will be more coming.
