OK, you young at heart riders. For years I have enjoyed water crossing photos. I hope that many of you enjoy them as well. Some are fast, some are are "Oh NO he didn't" and some are in the norm of not to hairy, but fun nonetheless. I KNOW that some of the best are never caught by a camera, , BUT lets those that were captured by a helpful rider be posted here! A fun LITTLE shot, Baja 2005, courtesy G. Kennedy of yours truely.
Excellent, I remember it well. Updating is not uncommon, as fresh threads on Jumps, Crashes, etal have shown. It is always fun and the thread you referenced has been inactive for a few months - lets get the water crossings heated up, once again!
The judges agree - the water was shallow, the potential rock OOPS was minor, but the speed ( my favorite qualifier today) was AOK! I like his goggles new moisture level, so the verdict is favorable"..
This is my personal favorite (of me). Not because it's a spectacular water crossing, but it was my first. I jumped and ran through plenty of creeks and such as a kid, but never any deep, long water crossings! Those air-cooled engines sure want to die when you plunge them in freezing water!
Thanks sandiegoland, the fresh posts have a chance to engage us all Ok advriders, do NOT think that your water-crossing photos are not worthy- post the shot and story-line! Have some fun!!!
I love the shot, and thank the guy with the cam for getting it right! I need to retrieve my heating pad SERIOUS - Major Kudos for the focus, as the bedrock is not stable - check his focus dudes - He is ON.
Water crossings are fun, as in the original 2004 thread.. This is a thread for a fresh presentation of the information. It is NOT about the photo, The EVENT is about what we can convey to others on advrider.com... How was it,,,,, What was done to make it? --- How did ya fix it when it all went wrong and ya uprighted the bike? So consider - whats under the water??? AND How fast is the water? What is in the water flow that is NOT under your tires? Lets bring some information to the membership! The photos and help we can offer to those that have not experienced what we know and feel is worthwhile.:eek1
How bout a video? A weee bit more muddy.... but there is the root OOPs potential... which stopped me at the end.
