Okay I did the search for Harley, and no thread came up so I'm starting one.

I've seen two Harleys fixed up as ADV bikes and LOVED them...

Been told there are some on this cool site but no luck when i search the bikes section. Figured Road warriors was the right place so I start this thread here.

Pls post links to other harleys in advrider into this thread for me?

    thanks,
    Dave

Check in the "some assembly required" section of bikes. You will find a few good threads there. Some are very current.

plus, do a search there for "Sportster" in addition to a search for "Harley".

The coolest one I ever saw (besides Doug's Sportster he rode across Siberia with) was an XR1200 with knobbies, high fender, some sort of exhaust mod to allow adventure bags, and a set of bags. I think the guy rode it up to Deadhorse, AK.

It is too bad the 2013 line-up at HD drops the XR and even the base Sportster. Someday I would like to build an XR like the one I saw here; too bad HD never built one either!
