I rode street bikes in my youth, a 72 Honda CB350, moved to a Kawasaki 400 two smoke in 1974. Traded that for a 1978 Yamaha XS 750 special rode it until 1982 or so.. 1991 or so spent a year or two on dirt bikes and bought a 1975 Kawasaki H2. Sold the dirt toy and the H2 by 93, then nothing until my brother bought a 2005 Kawasaki ZZR 1200. He lives 5 hours away, but I thought it would be fun to ride with him again. The ZX14 was just being introduced, I thought the press pictures showed a rather ugly bike, but I ordered a black one in July, 2006. Last day of July, I took delivery of my new bike. Anyway..

That is very interesting, as a KTM 990 SMT is high on my want list. How does the 14 compare with the 990 Duke? Do you ride the 14 anymore?

Here is a picture of my '08 special edition. Sometimes my MBS (multiple bike syndrome) gets the best of me. This is one of those times. Wish I never sold that bike. :baldy

To be honest ,I don't ride it much anymore. I love the huge power but,Traffic inforcement has become huge up here to where they take your bike away for going 40kph over, so i am enjoying the Ktm's more than ever.

The superduke i a very FUN bike to ride,it steers very quickly, and has very good drive out of tight corners. And the Adventurer is really the swiss army knife of bikes. It handles in the corners way better than it should and when the pavement ends you can keep going.:D

I knew the wheels on the 14 were stock from the build report you did on the Zx14 forum. But I cannot BELIEVE I fell for the BMW roundel on the KLR. I also have a 09 KLR with a BMW-ESQUE roundel!

Wait I missed something. You do have the primo wheels? I know they make the bike handle better because of the lighter weight. I stand corrected
