entered a couple when I was a foolish college kid in the early 70s. one big crash right in front of me and an expensive bent wheel I couldn't afford to replace pretty much cured me of that.

I've never been the racing sort, or any other sort of group sport.. I like riding solo.

Yea I can dig that. Solice has it's value. Wife & I often think of riding S.C.
But crits? yea, I potato'd both wheels at a U.C. Davis criterium in...84?
Fast wheel swap, 5 more laps, then got pushed to the curb and waisted the front loaner wheel. That was it for me too. Man I forgot all about that. memories...

"Questor" and "MotoAdventureGal" rode the Great Divide, on motorcycles. While riding it, they came across a couple riding unicycles. And, they were doing the whole route, too. Seems like they all crossed paths like three times during the trip. "Q" and "MAG" took some side trips, but, the uni's were moving right along.

I may have a picture of that guy on the uni. I'll go dig it up and post it. I took it in Darby while I was there for West Fest.

Great Divide? Hey thats a long trek. Good times 4 sure. BTW...riding a uni improves your "tiltometer"..lol.
This guy looks to be sporting a Coker 36" Hi end unicycle with brakes ,bag & bottles. Typical of the long haul uni riders. Probably over 2k invested on that rig. We have our devotions don't we?!
It's actually amazing the diversity that exists within this sport.
I befriended a guy who I believe is 3rd in the nation for unicycle trials competitions.
Riding uni's has kept my legs hella strong for M/X & high paced sport riding. Ok, we're talking uni's...
Well then you gotta see this video...Joseph (masters in math) is blindfolded when he jumps off the roof on his uni, and sticks it...& Mike, flew in from N.Z. to film this video with Joe, in Fresno Ca. This is good.
Enjoy...:norton

OK...I had to share this too. Say you would like to ride a uni, But think you lack what it takes, then you might want to try the electric unicycle...
The mythbusters Adam Savage gives it a go in San Fran...enjoy.

I have several cheap unicycles that learned to ride a couple of yeas ago at 52. I can only go a couple of hundred feet and fall over.:D

The crystallized, frozen kind- yeah!

I'm sort of taking CX kind of serious this year, but I'm going to host a whole series of snowbike races this winter.

Fat tires is only part of it. I've got a set of studded tires waiting for "white slickrock", AKA Lake Superior ice. :evil
