Just got in from about an hour exactly of riding. Warmed up 15min, did a set of pyramid intervals 1on/off thru 4 on/off and back down, then cooled down.

Traded a buddy my Turbomatic 4 for his Romin. Romin's mo bettah. Who's got a black one they wanna trade out something for? :ear

The only problem with the saddle compared to the Turbomatic is that it isn't built the same. My measurements don't work. :bluduh Hafta 'feel' it. :baldy I *think* its a cm shorter front to back so I just moved it back on the seatpost about that much. We'll see tomorrow.

When I worked in prosthetics, I had the privilege once of fitting Scott Rigsby, the first double amputee to finish an iron man.Yes, he had special leg attachments to allow him to clip in & out.

Was that Topanga Creek? That's where my Fargo and Mukluk came from. Awesome shop.

2011 Trek Remedy 7. Thoughts?

I can pick one up for ~$600 off MSRP, brand new in my size. I am 6'8", 275 lbs coming off a Rockhopper. I ride aggresively and this will be for very aggressive trail runs and some lift served downhill, at sane, try-not-to-die speeds. I'm up against the clock on this so anyone who has any insight, please advise! Besides that, currently between 2012 Giant Reign or 2012 Specialized Enduro Evo.

3:20 on the move w/ some cat1s and Joe Dumbrowski. Not as fast as I've gone thank doG. I was at the limit of my endurance cruising behind Joe and this guy Chris... then I ended up on the front most of the way back into Warrenton! I'd managed to successfully surf the back of t

This morning's ride:

This was my first ride since last weekend, I had to walk :shog the last 100 yds. to the top of the climb. I just can't hang when redlining. Thankfully, all the long out-of-town work trips are done for the year and I should be able to build up some mileage on the weekdays again.
We had a good mix of pavement and different kinds of dirt and the new Scott continues to shine. The pilot, not so much :nah . Still lots of work to do.

96 miles on the bike today - kind of cool, borderline cold. Overcast, a few drops of rain, a few asshole drivers but mostly, everyone played nice.

I also rode up "9-mile hill". Not steep - just kind of long. It's the big hump at the 51-60 mile point:

To continue: surf the back of the pack for most of the ride. Got pulled to the front in the only tailwind section we'd ridden all day. Least when I was pulling, I got to control the pace.

Today: Went racing again. M3/4 again. 45min of push, push, push. I was lined up on the ass end of an 85-ish person (there were a few girls) field. Didn't press too hard at the start cause I knew that the first time we started going thru the back and forth BS that the organizers tossed in pretty much everywhere they could it'd bottleneck. Sure enough... It was bad enough that the leaders were thru the announcing area before I got thru the first bit of course! Nope. Not gonna win this one either! :nono Oh well. Lets see how many people we can pick off.

The answer is...

I haven't the foggiest.

I was 50m or so off the back end of a bunch of guys and couldn't close em down. I'd probably had to ride harder from the start than they did to even catch up, much less pass em.

So... after 3+ hours on the bike yesterday, my legs felt OK to fair. I don't think I had as much oomph as I could have, but I do believe my fitness is coming round again. Now to work on more power. :nod

I haven't been on the bike in maybe three weeks.
This sinus cold/thing is killing my mood. So I spent the weekend in the garage again. Saturday was wet and cold to begin, so coffee in the garage and some electrical work were the order of the day. I ended the day with an aching back and my worst knee decided to play let's keep Dick awake all night. so bad night sleeping woke groggy form the sinus meds. More coffee, breakfast and back in the garage for round two. Today I did the 12-step BMW ABS brake bleed routine. I don't know enough swear words to properly account for my feelings toward the asshat wanna be engineers and their bean-counter overseers who came up with this utter mess. But, it's done. And who knows if the damned bike stops better. The clutch lever might feel better, but that might just have been the light traffic and warm weather on the test ride.

The big plus for the weekend was I was inspired to finally install the Fiamm horns I've had sitting on the shelf so long the paper instructions were yellowed. :lol3

Now, I have a loud set of horns that should be capable of snapping even the most ardent texting SUV pinhead back to the task-that-should-be-at-hand.

The rest of the year looks to be more long work days and stress. I think I really am going to be forced into that damned gym.
At least my weight has held fairly steady. I plan on truckign the Roubiax out to my Dad's for turkeyday and getting a couple of good rides in.

Right now, though I need to fill a glass with wine and kick back and rest. I topped the day off with sweeping the deck, and cleaning the pool and filter. My back is killing me.:rofl

Took my 6 year old out on the mtb trails today to see if he had what it takes.

Stopped at the pump track at the beginning of the intermediate loop.

After a few laps, he got into a groove.

Discovering that practice pays off. The open door used to be a bunker where they used to make bombs for Korea and 'Nam.

He made it through most of the intermediate loop. That little 6 speed Raleigh probably weighs more than my 29er. It won't shift down to first so he had to get off and push the climbs. Pretty impressive for his first time on real trails.:clap Didn't take any pics of the tougher sections.
