This is towards the end of the race when I was starting to fade some:
http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...96657212_n.jpg I wasn't running up the stairs any more at this point. I was just trying to make my legs move. M |

I'm thinking about a Crux as a backup bike instead of the Gunnar Crosshairs I have now. Appeasement as it were. (I MAY and I stress may have a carbon Crux next fall and the FTB will be backup. We'll see.) M |

Once I got on the bike, I could make em go round again. It was the hopping off and running down, then up the hill that was the tough part. ...the 3:20 on the bike the day before certainly didn't help! M |

anyways, I'd think the bamboo bikes by the likes of Calfee would be the "greenest" bikes.... |

My first 'real' racing bike was an SLX one of these. I SO wanted to make it look just like this one. Then I found out how freaking expensive C-Record was! On a college student budget? Not gonna happen. :nono Ended up with a mix of Shimano parts on it. Later on in life, it ended up all Sachs New Success. Sigh. Miss that bike. M |

I've had a few Cannondales in the past, but it was before they came out with the Lefty front fork. Always wanted to give that setup a try so over the weekend I picked up a Flash 2 29er. Fun bike! All aluminum frame is much stiffer than my Yeti Big Top 29er which has the carbon rear triangle. |
C' Record was manageable when it was on a Team deal.
Otherwise I would never have owned any. My first racebike was a MotoBecane Record, and had Shimano 600. The first bike I raced had Hurry-Echo Dupar, I know I didn't spell that right. But it was a Motobecane. More touring than racer, stamped drop-outs and even safety brake levers, I sawed off. And waterpipe 5130 steel frame. I actually folded the small chainring climbing in Red Rocks Park near Morrison Colorado. I had to beat it back near straight to ride the few miles back home.:huh I was a college student working part time as a BMW mechanic. I still hate French bikes.:lol3 Quote:

Now, hike-a-biking is a different story M |

But the frame is made of flax fiber, which is apparently quite a bit more recyclable. Quote:
