He can't be talking to me! I've DONE the fit thing. The person doing the fitting looked at me and said 'don't change anything.' That'll be $100 please.

A coworker slipped me one of these for the ride home

Fastest climbing time ever up over Mulholland drive.
My legs kept going but my cardio couldn't keep up. almost hyperventilated.

weird stuff

don't forget, 80% of your brake force is the front wheel, and you ain't got no front brakes now. Allow -lots- of stopping distance.

I think if I was riding a fixie on the street, with traffic and pedestrians and everything, I'd want a front brake. screw being pure, I don't wanna end up with my face stuffed into someones door because I couldn't stop.

We used to call those 'track bikes' as they were only for riding in velodromes.

Barnstormer 01-09-2007 10:09 PM

If you flip that wheel you'll have NO brakes, not 20% or whatever. No coaster brake on there, no rim brakes.....no brakes at all.

At least put a front brake on if you havent ridden a fixie before. (and for when you flip the wheel)

and WTF are the cleatless pedals, or at least toe-clips w/ straps?!?

I finally got my cruiser out again and road 5 miles cross town today... took me 20 minutes, with a few 1 block hills.

Speaker 01-09-2007 11:23 PM

The green one's mine. Been riding it for a quite a while, and am happy with my choice. OMI1150GS's fixie has brakes, it's on the page before this one. Also, no flip-flop hub on mine, so don't worry yourself too much.
