Been looking for other shifters/bikes to canbalize

I've got a handfull...

...but they're in Phx and I'm here in Denver.

Once I get the stuff outta storage, I'll post up. If you still need em, you can have a pair.

In the meantime, check older LBSs. Stay away from mtn-only type shops. They won't know WTF yer talkin about!

I'm just not sure where the "coolness" factor comes from? Is it just because most riders don't ride them? A fixed gear is just another bike and for some people another way to pose.

My feeling is that a bike doesn't make a rider cool, what that rider does makes that rider cool.

Now, I'm going to get on my Colnago C-50 with Zipp 404 wheels, Tru-Vativ carbon cranks and DA components and go for a ride. :thumb

Hey it was your question. I agree.

I love my fixie, often feel I ride better on it than on my roadie.

I'm not cool and neither are any of my bikes. Cool just doesn't come into play with me. I sure do enjoy riding though.

Been a long time

I got my old bike back from my pal to whom I sold it back in '76.

It's a Bottecchia, the only frame that ever really fit me. My friend upgraded components, mostly period upgrades, and had the aged white paint redone in blue -- the color of the pinstripes around the lugs on the original. I put new tires and pedals on it. And I love it.

I'm gonna go ride it right now.
