Cyclocross is awesome. :D

Everybody thinks I'm completely insane. Well, except for the regular cyclocrossers.

When I did the Death Ride, I probably camped next to your buds. I was wearing my Comrades shirt, which gets you gasps of admiration in Africa, but no one at the Death Ride registration lines and pre-ride meal recognized it. Heathen.

But I camped by the side of the road ghetto-style and there were three guys with a camper sitting in their lawn chairs telling WS stories. I thought I recognized one as Tim Twietmeyer, so I strode over, flexed, and asked "can't a guy get any respect for this shirt around here?" They lit up, offered me a seat and we talked for an hour. It was Tim and two other board members.

Tweet is The Man!

I forgot to mention, the Firetrails RD holds the womans record at Comrades ~> 6:13:23 :deal

She also won WS 14 times, she was 3rd overall one year because Tweet pulled her in at the end and he got 2nd. :lol3

Cool lady and a good friend. The Bay Area has always been a hotbed of ultrarunning.

Last 'cross race isn't until mid-November almost. I can't wait to try this in the snow. :D

Mud 2s seem to be a good bet when its muddy. I got a pair of Racing Ralphs from PlanB to try. Seem to do OK. I MUCH prefer tubulars. :nod Mo bettah for cross racing. :ricky

You can usually pick up a pair of tubulars for cheep on ebay. Tires on the other hand are usually pretty spendy (for the good ones. Tufo T34s aren't too bad.)

I'm headed to the Mid-Atlantic here during the middle-ish of cross season. Can't wait to get back out there!

The Furnace Creek 508 is this weekend. I'll be there racing a tandem.
508 miles with 36,000ft of climbing. Should be a hoot!

She's astounding. :bow :bow :bow I followed her career for a long time. She did that Comrades win with a horribly torn hamstring, I heard.

Hey nomiles, you wanna mod the Ultrarunning part of Fried Quads? Seems like there is no ultra forum on the Internet, is there?

I'd love to try riding behind a Durney, but it would have to have that rear roller bumper just in case....

We need to get you freaks of nature shipped over to your own forum, I'm starting to feel pretty inadequate here.
