I'll give you a goddam ride report
How about 10 miles round trip with one rest stop. Someone had to represent the chapter, and since Rabia got stuck nursemaiding that drunken sot Dizave she couldn't make it over here today to go see a friend of mines antique bike collection, so I just said fuck it and went here to get my bike washed, even though I spent 3 hours washing and waxing yesterday. You can all thank me later.

the things I have to suffer thru as chapter president are sometimes almost to much for one man to bear.

but fear not! I'm presidential material, thats why I'm the president and the rest of them aint.

nachtflug 07-05-2003 03:37 PM

sure it all looks so glamorous, chapter president, the whispers of why him, how did he, but whos out there bustin his ass on the 5th of july while the rest of them have "family commitments" or "getting some real sleep".

I earn my keep I wanna tell you.

nachtflug 07-05-2003 03:41 PM

but folks, lets be honest. the work is never done. I don't have the excuses a lot of these guys use. sometimes you have to just put your nose to the grindstone and focus on the task at hand, regardless of the cost in pain and sweat. you push on, you gut it out.

nachtflug 07-05-2003 03:46 PM

but its not all bad. personally I like the recruiting drives, when I get to meet with potential new chapter members and get to know them on a more personal level. hey bmwrider, bet you ain't got this on your smugmug.

dragoon 07-05-2003 03:47 PM

You poor, poor, man. The leader takes all the arrows.

nachtflug 07-05-2003 03:51 PM

amen brother.

and it always seems to come in waves, not one here, one there, blam. triple wammy. three fast balls. it aint easy, no sirree bob, ecspecialy when some of your constituents are sleeping it off somewhere and your busting your ass on a chapter ride.

nachtflug 07-05-2003 03:56 PM

but folks, Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither has this chapter been. its been built on hard work, and having the guts to step up to the plate and and face the 95 mph fastballs without flinching.

yes sir.

play ball.

nachtflug 07-05-2003 04:01 PM

but hey this is a ride report not some excuse to whine about why we can't ride right?

well the chapter president of the new england chapter of advrider took a little ride today, all of 10 miles, and it was hotter than hell, but, for the sake of the chapter, he did it.

whatta guy.

Mack 07-05-2003 04:01 PM

Gheez, he waits until now to apply his new found knowledge of cropping and compressing digital images!:splat Impeachment vote next chapter meeting!

nachtflug 07-05-2003 04:09 PM

hey it was smug mug. the first run of pics of my bike were all low res 40K pics. but I bumped it up cos I knew in the hazy conditions the little nikon is sometimes a little blurry. but I fucked it up and bumped them up pretty big, to 200+K, but smugmug sizes them down automaticaly, which I really didn't know it did. duh. hey baldy why dont you tell us these things, you expect us to read directions? but anyway Vienna Calling was treated to a make over it'll not soon forget.

nachtflug 07-05-2003 04:13 PM

hey don't quit your day job you missed a spot.

nachtflug 07-05-2003 04:19 PM

nachtflug 07-05-2003 04:27 PM
