Don't let this thread die...... I have a Dodge diesel 3/4 ton, and am thinking that a Sprinter would be great for the missus. Or we'll swap. I like them - I get 19-20 mpg running biodiesel in the truck, and would love to get 25+ with a Sprinter...... wife hates vans, but they seem to fit nicely between the minivan and the Chester the Molester Econolines.

We've got a '05 for work (auto parts) and the guy that usually drives it seems to like it. We have driven to Chicago with it (about 280 miles round trip), and got 23 mpg. That's better than the Dodge fullsize van with a 5.2L V8. The model we have is pretty basic, with no interior panels to speak of, except the full length rubber flooring. He said it does get kind of loud inside, but otherwise no problems.

that's what I am thinking..running it on Biodiesel. Tried finding the suggested MPG foir the new 08 Diesel and could not find it. but then again maybe I'm an idiot

I get about the same MPG between diesel and B99 in the truck - but when towing horses, milage dips a bit with the bio. That Andrew dude seems like a biodiesel whiz-bang - he may know about the CRD's. Seems like a great rig for camping, dogs, hauling, etc. It is a bit big, but with a re-map, I bet it would match the mpg's we are making with our Subie Impreza (RS).

My next door neighbor is a FedEX guy, he said they used them for a while but had to many CPU problems. Said it had 7 different units. They went back to regular vans.

I've had one for close to five years and have no regrets. I use it for work (haul lumber from the sawmill and deliver finished cabinets/furniture), haul motorcycles (saves the embarrasment of trailering), and I've built a removable rv/camper for it. What more would you need?

I've never gotten better than 23mpg and usually it's in the 21mpg range. The new model (with a new v-6) gets about the same.

Yes, there are always maintenance issues, but the most serious one is the lack of dealerships, and even fewer experienced, honest mechanics.

Amazing resale value on these. High mileage ones (over 400K miles) often go on eBay for $10-$12,000.
