Aprilia Caponord

Hey everyone, I've been here for a while but haven't had any good pics to post. I took these this evening, so they're a little dark, but they show my Capo with all the accessories.

Aprilia tankbag
Aprilia fairing guard
Givi E52 Monokey trunk with top rack
Givi T418 tailbag
Givi T421 saddlebags
center stand
15 tooth front sprocket
Garmin Street Pilot c330 GPS
35 watt Pep Boys driving lights

Very nice, I don't think I've ever seen the Capo in black with red decals! Looks sharp.

I have a buddy with a Capo. They are very underrated bikes.

Very sweet! Damn, I want one.

How does the stock charging system fair with the aux lights???
and oh yeah I got one too:clap

BUT WAYYYYY Dirtier:lol3

CapoGreg 02-05-2008 05:07 PM

Thanks for the compliments.

Does fine with stock charging system so far, but I keep it wound up above 3500 revs most of the time. Mine will get diriter, but I got it in mid-October and it's been pretty cold most of the time. I put 200 miles on it today, but I'm still only at 1350. Once I get the hang of handling it and the tires are worn down, I'll replace them with TKC-80's then really put it through the paces.

All U.S. versions of the Capo from '06 to '07 are Gloss Black with red emblems. I think it looks way cool!

Nice to see the soft bags mounted. I'll have to consider them.

http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...v/P0003737.jpgCome on, the titanium (or what ever fancy italian word they have for it) can be a looker too. You can't see it in these photos, but the Aprilia logo is in big bold silver letters under the clear coat across the tank sides. The fabric side bags would worry me against the pipe shields. My Capo had a Givi hard side bag mount when I bought it but the previous owner would not let go of the bags cause they fit his other bike. Figured yanking it off looked better than riding around w/out bags. My grantour tail bag does most everything I need it to. I like those lights you mounted! I may do that for the fun of it before I put mine up for sale. I believe I really want a new BMW F800GS when they finally show up here in September. Make that one yellow please BMW!

When you get that F800GS you are going to miss those nifty rims and the tubeless tires.

I was concerned about the soft bags touching the exhaust shields too. But I ran the bike pretty hard for 4 hours yesterday and when I got home the first thing I did was put my hand on the heat shield. I wasn't really hot and the bags are fine so far. There may be a problem when it gets warmer out, but I saw a good solution to that already. I saw a guy with a KTM 950 put the sidecase racks on his bike and they act as attachment points for the bags and they provide support while keeping the bags away from the exhaust. If it becomes an issue on mine, I'm going to get the racks to protect the soft bags and then if I decide to get hard cases later on, that's one less thing I'll have to buy.

I've used soft bags on a few long trips and did not have any problems with the heat sheilds at all...

Yep Chip, I spotted that line on the 800 spec sheet the first time I read through it. I thought, really, they still make tires w/ tubes? Go figure. And from what I have heard, it was BMW who first came out with the spoked (outside the airchamber) rims.

FYI, they are all a bit_h to clean. Tubes or no tubes! A shaft would have been nice on that 800 to eliminate the chain slop.

To clean? Hmm, what about that one?
