Twin Cities Area Campfire BS Thread
So we sat around the fire last night talking about rides, stories, lies, etc. avoiding the edgy talk about politics & religion, making new friends and new enemies ...
I want some links to that stuff.
Here's that favorite ADV ride report I was talking about:
And on the morbid side:
What else you remember?
Carl with A K ,,, um ,,, snores.
So do you.:nod
There was lots of movies discussed that I need to netflix, if only I remembered there titles.:freaky
I was glad our tent was far enough away to be snore free, but the real key was being upwind :evil
I have to give props to GSDiablo and Elizabeth (don't know her ADV name) Great people, made you feel right at home. Great food, great riding advice and Great people make a great time!!! This was my first get together and will not be my last... Thanks all for making me feel welcome and sharing advice and such....
Okay here is a link to the Hidden Cambodia peeps I talked about. If you want to take a trip really off the beaten path these people are great and can make sure you don't get scammed in country....
Here are some pictures of my trip
Here are some pictures of the well building projects
Movies I like to quote from:
Glen Gary Glen Ross "Coffee is for Closers"
Meatballs "It just doesn't matter!"
Fight Club "Is this a test, sir?"
I will try to think of more.......
To Liz and Greg - You both did a bang up job :clap
I had a great time and the food was excellent!! I hope I didn't make too many enemies :lol3 :deal
+1 on the movies - there were a ton mentioned and I remember very few with winter coming up I could use some diversion...
Hey Kevin did Mitch make it home yet? Now there is a true ADV spirit and a great kid.
Daggy thanks for the Alaska advise, I hope to be able to use all of it!! I'll try to get pic's up tonight if I can find some time.
Thanks again to all, truly a great time. I hope this was the first annual :evil
Mitch made it back in one piece. I met him in Pine City and gave him a pair of lobster mitts to keep his hands warm and dry. He continued down 61 and I headed over and picked up Government Rd. He rolled in a half hour behind me - all smiles and thrilled with his adventure.
Wish I had thought of this song Saturday night:
- My Girlfriend, Who Lives in Canada
I wish you could meet my girlfriend, my girlfriend who lives in Canada.
She couldn't be sweeter
I wish you could meet her,
My girlfriend who lives in Canada!
Her name is Alberta
She live in Vancouver
She cooks like my mother
And sucks like a Hoover.
I e-mail her every single day
Just to make sure that everything's okay.
It's a pity she lives so far away, in Canada!
Last week she was here, but she had the flu.
'Cause I wanted to introduce her to you
It's so sad
There wasn't a thing that she could do
But stay in bed with her legs up over her head!
I wish you could meet my girlfriend,
But you can't because she is in Canada.
I love her, I miss her, I can't wait to kiss her,
So soon I'll be off to Alberta!
I mean Vancouver!
Shit! Her name is Alberta, she lives in Vancou-
She's my girlfriend!
My wonderful girlfriend!
Yes I have a girlfriend, who lives in Canada!!
Show tunes ...
Since this can of worms has been open ... Urban Dictionary: "My girlfriend who lives in Canada" is a lie invented by hundreds if not thousands of geeky 35 year old birthday boys who can't get any dates and don't want to appear pathetic. The geek will take pictures from magazines or the internet and pass them off as the "Canadian girlfriend". The "girlfriend can also be a spy, cowgirl, model, whatever. ( In this campfire story ... a soon to be nurse ...)
I love ya Daggy !!!!
Jeebus the one two punch - that's gonna leave a mark :lol3
Blood Simple (first of the Cohen Bros.) "Hey mister, how'd you break your pussyfinger?"
Blue Velvet (David Lynch) "That's a human ear all right."
Millers Crossing... I forget more....
Great Times were had, the Diablo Estate was great.
Mitch is THE MAN
