New Tag
In keeping with the theme I present you with:

DirtyGirl was in the original Hairspray with this actor, who went by the name Devine.

There wasn't a place close to the headstone that I felt safe leaving the egg so I put it under a bush a few rows away.

That's the back of the tagged headstone in the lower right corner of the picture.

Another angle of the hiding spot from where you can park your bike:

The tag from where the bike was parked:

The red head in the picture was some chic that drove from Columbus OH to take some rubbings of the headstone. She said rubbings

Expensive little egg
Eggo is safe & waiting to go.

I didn't even plan on getting the egg till Saturday morning, when the wife-unit announced that she was going to a neighbor's for a couple of hours, giving an opportunity for a ride. The cemetery's only about 50-ish minutes to our east.

Coming up the west side of the Baltimore beltway and in between gaggles of cars, I was running at traffic speed in the low 60s when something flashed in the right mirror. I'd noticed the Jeep Liberty in the construction mess on the right and it looked like a typical construction vehicle. The speed camera's mounted on the front of the grill, so it had been pretty inconspicuous. Drat, unless it got the one car possibly near enough to me, that'll be 60+ in a construction zone (double fines) where the limit drops to 50.

So I'm just about to pull into the cemetery and pass a familiar black Beemer K-bike in the back of a parking lot. I was past before realizing who it was. Into the cemetery and slowed to a crawl, finding the grave stone wasn't hard. But there was an older guy paying his respects just a few rows away. We've all been or will be in his shoes, so idling by as quiet as possible, the lane emptied into a parking lot and there was Brian with his K-bike. Turns out that he'd also idled by. We went back in when the older gent drove out.

Brian posted a good photo and the headstone is to the right of the bike windshields in his shot, so here are a couple more (he's the tall guy on the left :) ):

The weekend got crazy after that, what with standing by for a trip that never came work-wise (good thing), and then heading to our son's college after some bonehead took a 2x4 repeatedly to my son's WeeStrom.

The base of the Strom's right mirror mount was broken by the force of whoever unleashed on it. Who woulda thunk that using the front brake bracket from the bars of an old KLR could get a Wee ridable again? Who woulda thunk we'd need to find out?

They may already know who did it, so we'll see how that goes. :asshat

I actually recently broke the compass I used for work and the one from the bag will now become a world traveler, took a SMIBby sticker (thanks SMIBs), put in a bottle opener, and eggy is ready to go back out. New post when I can get to it, which'll probably tomorrow at this point.

Sorry about your son's bike. The motivations of so many people are a total mystery to me. I hope you can recoup some damages from the asshole who did it.

But it's cool that you and Brian hooked up again on the NA Tag! Oh yeh, I said I had been lurking this game forever:lol3
I suspect that because your foreign gig fell though, eggo is gonna stay more local.

Tag ON!

Even though it was in a construction zone the fine is still "only" $40, ask me how I know. :kboom

Wreckchecker 11-02-2010 06:40 AM

Brian, you WEREN'T supposed to tell anybody!

Wingfixer, hope you're right. That or I'll slip it in with the camera tix that my wife keeps getting. Maybe she won't even notice.
