Karma for crossing the double yella, Rooky Be-otch!

The nerve of that guy!

Right, ADV?

Sloppy riding with nice gear masquerading as skill meets sloppy riding.

disgusting.

He was cutting corners deliberately - not quite the same as someone who
just couldn't pick a decent line. A good rider could go through the corners much quicker and stay inside the lines.

stupidity driven by ego.

Ok, so just b/c he used a vacant section of road, and while it is illegal he didn't get caught OR endanger ANYONE, that makes him (the KTM rider) a sloppy rider?

See, that's where I don't get attitudes like yours... He pays taxes on both sides, and it was clear to use.

But that little indiscretion makes him sloppy to you?

Did you see how controlled he put the bike down? Maybe if you knew or even cared to know your limits, you could enjoy a spirited ride like that one day, instead of being all sourpuss calling others on technicality's while you ride the way you see fit?

Sorta gets into a "freedom" thing... If he wants to, and doesn't put anyone or anything at risk, is he free to choose to do that?

Or should he run that by you 1st?

It's not a 80,000lb 55 foot long truck... It's a 250lb 2ft wide glorified scooter? Just who or what is he gonna hurt with it?

Great attitude. Bet you got lots of friends. What? Are we already out of "biker catches car driver trying to kill him but at some point during the vid he crosses the double yellow line so that makes the car driver exempt" threads, you can go heckle?

Wow, some really scary stuff in these videos and photos. I rode there many times 10-20 years ago, and stayed at the motel there, before it became famous and, apparently, infested with a million idiots. :huh Man, I have no interest in going back there now, after seeing what it has turned into.

The motel and minit market / gas station used to be owned by a guy named Pete (can't recall his last name). It wasn't fancy, in fact the rooms were a bit crusty. Pete only let people who came in on bikes stay there. You could call ahead and reserve a room and Pete would fix you a steak and some veggies wrapped in foil, which you could cook on the grill in front of your room. He eventually sold the place, and it was reborn as the fancy establishment it is now. :puke1 I liked it the way it was.

Both at fault equally, no big deal with me, if you want to play and crash head on with someone else who wants to play, I got no problem with that.
Two guys out being stupid and get killed, that was their choice.
As long as they don't crash into someone who was riding sensibly in their own lane, they can ride off a cliff or into a wall for all I care. Personal choice.
Stupidity sure seems to increase when camera's are around...

Nice 'had to lay er down' but I think he could have kept it upright and got back on the road acting like Joe cool....yea, I do that all the time....

You forgot to imply both riders in your post... After all, they (the KTM riders) both went down...

And there's just no excuse for that is there? Street tires unintentionally meets dirt and grass...

I'm sure a great rider such as yourself would not, and could not have went down in that same, though RANDOM, situation.

Tapatalk doesn't show embed videos, so I was wondering what on earth you guys were talking about.

Finally saw the video. Things could have gone a lot worse!

A little intrigued by the Orange tires, though.

All riders in that video were being idiots. What made the lead interviewed rider "sloppy was him saying "I was just getting ready to set up and commit to my turn when..." (or something to that effect) He was staged almost on top of the center line in a blind corner to "Start" his turn.

Squid on a motard he deserved to go down for riding like a fool.

just my oppinion...:1drinkThe BMW guy deserved a BEAT DOWN. :bash

This... Like a little girl hiding behind a tree playing hide-and-seek running out in front of you... Or errant, unsecured aircraft engines falling from the sky.

Am I the only on that thinks about fate and chance before I shoot my big mouth off, "it could".

It COULD have been a fully loaded Peterbilt 359 coming around that curve trying to pass that van... Or a commercial airliner making an emergency landing...

Are you that daft? It can ALWAYS be worse!

Don't be. You'll never ride that fast. Specially when it "could be" for riders that don't ride around waiting for bad things to happen to them.

Yeah, being run off the road by a random chance event. He should have been prepared for "wrong place at the wrong time".

Now THAT we can agree on.

I am a good rider - not a great rider.
I am old and my bike is older and while I have
played around on the GAP, I won't
cut corners for speed. If I am riding behind
the big sport bikes on my ancient GS and they
start cutting corners to try to get away - I let them go.

What do you call RANDOM anyway? That looked
like deliberate sloppy riding pretending to be quick.
What is so RANDOM about a head on or a near
head on when you take into account the blind
curves and mix of riders at the GAP.

That's about like shooting a gun into a filled
football stadium and claiming a hit to be a
RANDOM occurrence.

No, if I had been that rider, I don't think I would
have locked up my rear to "lay her down" in the grass.
The GS is so wide we would have hit and
at the least probably lost our left legs.

And wasn't there a sniper in a bell tower at a school somewhere?

Guess you can tell them it was just random...

So you have full control when you're randomly run off the road and into a patch dirt of grass?

:huh Then why compare your riding skills, motorcycle, and a safe bet-rear tires, to his?

Gosh, you really are that good... :rolleyes
