By where he is looking in the first shot, I have to wonder if the Supermotard was on the right (or wrong) side of the road.
He sees him in his lane, panics, and stabs the rear brake AND tries to cut to the outside of his lane.

No, He's doing what a lot of people do. Turn in to visit the photographers, thereby crossing the oncoming lane on a blind turn.

I think you nailed it. Turned in to visit the photographer and then panicked and biffed it when the supermoto came around the bend at the same time. Ouch.

I gotta think the sight of those photographers and their killboy.com vehicles are the cause of a lot of this mayhem. Well, not the cause, but the reason so many of these tards pull the knob moves they do.

Sort of a "Darwin accelerator effect".

I agree, I know when i roadraced i once low-sided in a practice knowing a friend was shooting photos there, and I wanted to get my bike a bit lower for a photo and lost the front end.
We act different in front of cameras.

Yep. Go find "rnickeymouse" on youtube and look at his channel page -- more videos of guys crashing on the Angeles Crest than you can shake a broken clutch lever at.

At several track days, the Photographer will tell you he is going to be moving around, and in the next breath says DO NOT look for me, unless you want good crash pictures! Yup, people do dumb things in front of cameras.
