1. You mean the tar on the bottom of it? That comes from actually riding.
2. It's called a kickstand; hard-core bikers don't have them I guess?
(I drag my VN800A Vulcan's kickstand on every hard left turn - it is, admittedly, a poor design and a Harley copy, but let's be honest - cruisers such as his and mine weren't made for motorcycle enthusiasts, they were made for style points. )
