If HD can't make a V-Twin perform, they need lessons from the Japanese and Italians.

It's the air cooled part that makes it tricky I believe. Still the Buells did pretty well even air cooled but they had that BIG muffler to work with and it had an exhaust valve too.

Have you considered the risk you may be posing to others? You may be paying for both sides of the road, but you have no right to cause a head on collision with another bike, car, or anyone else.

I understand the LOC argument when there is good visibility around the turn, but there is a VERY LIMITED sight line on this road. Anyone LOC here is a FAIL.

BTW, I came into a right hand curve and met a pickup going the other way, and he was taking his half out of the middle. I had to adjust my line in order to get to go home to my family...

You're new to this, arntcha?

No one I've ever seen yet is advocating "just riding" on the other side of the line as you make it sound.

It's the entry or exit where you can plainly see... Oh hell, nevermind... Just keep telling us you ride a motor-sickle.. We'll believe you.

Rarely, I find staying ON the bike in a over-run in the absence of an on-coming car is better than a quick pinch and possibly dumping the bike... Just so's I not touch that purdy yaller part...

But I have tight technical curves where I live. I understand if you don't.

Here's a nice no-camber turn you can charge and "stay in your lane"... So the tree limbs can smack the shit out of you...

Nevermind you can see on-coming traffic from the last apex exit... You've got your morals...

And whatever you do, though it may be tempting to pass here... Don't! It's not legal! It's unsafe! Das Verbooten!

No matter the farm implement, or transplant from Flatsville Fl... IT IS NOT LEGAL! It's much safer, and legal, to get rear-ended from a local "speeder":thumb

No motorcycle made could safely negotiate these hair-pin curves to make a safe pass here, no sir re-Bob... Oh the humanity!

There, or a half mile down, past the S's...

What happened to the 318 curves? Did I love my NX straighten them out by riding LOC?

I watched a few 11-13 minute videos of bikes on the gap and only counted only 150 tops.

Bunch of crosseyed, drunk NASCAR fans riding bicycles counted the turns it seems.

It apears to be a nice road, but tight and technical is a stretch unless your typical cornering is railing the cloverleafs in the valley.

I guess you could swerve around the squirrel stains, skid marks, and oil spots to make up the other 158 turns.

I have been there, but avoided it the last few years, lots of better roads without the circus. I give it about 220 turns, there is NO way to count 318, unless you count every squiggle in the Double yellow, including the ones "Bubba the paint truck driver" added as he took a drink of Bud Light, while striping the pavement.

I know a legit 348 turn section of roads in NC, but don't ask me where, 'cuse i ain't tellin, :D

Go on up to Tryon, or Millspring/Lake Lure to Ashville... That is, if the transplants havent taken over yet...

Man that was some purdy country up there some 10 years back... Prolly nothing but houses by now...

Man oh man,
you have a talent for making it sound like riding a motorcycle is dangerous or difficult, but really it's not.

We all know what we are supposed to do, it's in the drivers handbook.
We all know what we want to do, sometimes taking certain liberties is part of the game.
We all know what sometimes needs to be done, but the trick is being prepared, having something in reserve so you don't have to.

Ride your lane, if you need the rest of the road to get around something or make up for a fuck up, just do it.

Simple as that, no need for endless commentary on the subject.
