How Big a Dork Am I?

I've had my '72 Honda CT90 Trail for a few months now, and I'm having all kinds of fun with it. I take it to the library, go minor shopping with it, and just do exploring around the area, getting my thrills at 35-40 MPH.

Carrying things presents the usual problems, hoping things bungied onto the rack don't fall off, gallon milk containers are a major challenge.

So yesterday, in a fit of dorkdom, I ziptied a large milk crate onto the rack. Big enough to haul at least 2 large paper supermarket shopping bags, and who knows how many books, 6 packs, etc.

So tell me, how big a dork does this make me? :eek1

Could have been worse man, you might have tried to bungy-cord a cardboard box on it instead!

Delight in Dorkness I always say.

Dork out.

Hi, my name is Steve, and I am a dork....

Thanks for the group support!

As I've said before, one of the few benefits of getting older is you just don't give a shit what other people think anymore. Gives you lots of latitude to do whatever you please, no matter how, let's say, "dorky". ;>)

I'd be more worried about having a screen name associated with a banana hammock than a milk crate. Wearing a Speedo is the epitome of dorky.:deal Or maybe you're just European.:lol3

If you're feeling insecure, we can ride around the 'hood together for a while. Next to my baby blue C70, your bike will seem like a manly off-road beast. I bet if we tore up enough dirt roads, we could end up in the slammer in Katonah for 15 minutes, thus proving our (Honda step-through) 1%er status.

PS - where'd you find the milk crate? I've been hanging out behind the A&P in Millwood trying to steal one, but no dice. (note to law enforcement in Northern Westchester: joooooooking!)

I must be an oddball then since ive got a factory cargo box.

Not only are milk crates the traditional storage box for Trail 90s but they're also hip. You're stylin and you don't even know it.

I carry my big cooler on the back of my cbr600, so one of my friends that doesn't ride that much, said I might as well put a milk crate on the back, as he laughed at me. I just laughed back and said I do! It must be a "HOW IT LOOKS THING" for him or not cool. Me I don't care... I use a milk crate all the time . Now you got me wondering about a scooter for a new ride, they look like fun and I already have the milk crate...

Nope, has nothing to do with swimwear, underwear, or anywhere.

Has to do with an old song. Lyrics here: http://lyrics.dainutekstai.lt/339719...acs-speedo.htm

Bjorn, PM coming at you.

Rarely do I see a CT90 w/o a milk crate on the back, mine has a brown one zipped tied to the rack with various nets and bungies on it for what ever payload I need to haul - they also work well as back rests

Hell, I even have been known to have a milk crate on my Sportster. This particular crate saved the paint (along with the highway pegs) on the bike in a wreck in 8/2008. It was mostly cosmetic damage to the bike.

It's on my Elite right now. If you carry anything fragile, make sure you have a lid on it. A fellow club member catapulted my digital camera from it when he hit a big pothole when the crate was on the Elite.
