I see you guys are gambling men. That poor ole bridge was probably groaning, with the weight of those heavy D.S. bikes parked on it.

Here's a couple built by John Roebling that aren't in Brooklyn.

Now it's open to vehicles. http://pvr-405.smugmug.com/photos/23984282-M.jpg Roebling Aqueduct |

Vermont bridges
Most of these bridges are in or around Orange County Vermont. These have been posted before in my ongoing Vermont ride report.
The Flint Bridge, the oldest remaining covered bridge in Tunbridge, VT, built in 1847. http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i3...6-18-20067.jpg The Larkin Bridge, built in 1902 for the sum of $473.23. I'd say they got their moneys worth so far... http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i3...-18-200610.jpg A shot of the Mill Bridge. The current Mill Bridge is, I believe, the third or even fourth one in its place. The previous bridges had been taken out by ice jams and floods. http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i3...-18-200611.jpg One of my favorite things about the Mill Bridge is this sign. http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i3...-18-200612.jpg Below is the Howe bridge, built in 1879. http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i3...-18-200614.jpg Quechee covered bridge. http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i3...7-03-20065.jpg The "Floating Bridge" in Brookfield. It is a bridge that, well... floats. http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i3...7-03-20066.jpg http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i3...7-03-20067.jpg Yup, very slippery. |
