worst sportscasters on tv

NFL network hands down.

"tonight we're making history, it's the first time two sons will face off as coaches in an NFL game." :huh

Is that not true?

Everytime there is a game two sons coach against each other.

This is the first time two brothers have faced off.

That and you can't understand most of what any of them say. It's a sad statement to say that they'd be sunk without Dion Sanders.

Damn. I thought this was going to be a thread about Ralph Shaheen. :D

I do see your point about that. Although I do like Rich Eisen. Warren bugs me because he won't shut up and let the other folks get their point out. Mayock just needs his deviated septum repaired and he would be easier to understand. :D

Joe 'Blowhard' Buck followed by his partner Troy Aikman and not far behind Vern Lundquist and Brian Bellichick. Buck's sincere apology on Fox when Randy Moss faked pulled his pants down at Green Bay has to be one of the lows in broadcast history.

Picking the "worst" is difficult... lots of knuckleheads to choose from.

I liked Miller was he was MNF

beemerron 11-25-2011 10:13 AM

Mike Lange, the play-by-play guy that does Penguin radio is a real tool.

Fleece Johnson 11-25-2011 02:34 PM

In no particular order....

Chris Berman
Doug Gotleib
Bernie Kosar(always sounds drunk calling Browns preseason games)
Mark May
Joe Morgan
The Yankees radio people "An A-Bomb from A-Rod" :puke1

I'm sure I'm forgetting at least 7 more!

bobobob 11-25-2011 04:17 PM

The ones that lithp and tht tht thtutter.
Can't a couple of million a year get you somebody who can speak properly?

Dan Dierdork, Pat Haden, Lou Holtz, Shannon sharpe and Thom Brenneman.

OuttaMyWay 11-25-2011 05:51 PM

They all suck.

I got spoiled growing up in LA, with Vin Scully calling Dodger games,
Chick Hearn the Lakers, and Dick Enberg the Rams.

My vote for worst ever goes to Brent Musburger.
After ALL THIS TIME, shouldn't he have at least an inkling what he's talking about?

jhansen 11-25-2011 06:02 PM

Tim Macgarver of MLB on Fox. Him and Joe Buck, bung hole brothers.

zilla 11-25-2011 07:26 PM

Phil Simms.

McCarver is the worst announcer in the history of baseball. Listening to him makes me want to pull my own eyelids off. :baldy

I have the MLB online audio subscription, so I get to listen to every team's radio broadcasts during the course of the season. There are some real doozies out there, but nothing compares to Tim McCarver.

Rumor has it that Fox has offered Vin Scully the booth for any games the he'd like to do next year during the post-season. I'm a lifelong SF Giants fan, and our play-by-play team is one of the best, but no one matches Vin for smooth.
