the concept was the same, take advantage of the arid weather of Southern California to hold an early season spring ride-in/camp/bbq/party ... Song Dog Ranch was an epic location, I managed to make it to one event (the last 'Twaddlefest') just before it was closed down by overzealous planning weenies.:cry

I still think of Song Dog as Warped 0, even though the WARPED Trip name didn't come to existence until the following year when planning for the first event at MRA in Kernville...:freaky

We could probably still use Song Dog if we didn't tell anyone. It's still there and, while not "in operation," small groups of people have been known to camp there. Family friends I think they call them.

hah. 80 or 100 of us with kegs and bbq would probably exceed the definition of 'friends'.

I am the new owner of GERG's 1150 tanker GS. I am going to be doing a fly/ride and considering hitting this event for a day. Is this limited to just local riders or can a Missouri hayseed join? I do love trying new beer. Does a perosn have to bring beer or can it be purchased at the event. Just asking..............

YES

{all of the above.... there will be kegs of beer in the evenings, but you can also buy a wide selection of good west coast beer a couple miles away in Kernville.}

Everybody is welcome, Hayseeds included.
There should be ample quanities of beer included with the price of admission, however as already stated, there is a brewery just down the street along with a store. The store has an amazing selection for such a small town.
There is lots to explore if you have more than a day. If you don't, enjoy the day you have.

One of the nice things at WARPED are the complete tool sets some riders carry.

I was waiting to see if they were going to get the shovel involved.
