Where is the cheapest place in oz to buy them?

And is the supplied motorcycle mount secure?

I have a 2006 BMW F650GS is it easy to mount to this bike?

Zumo 660

Hi Jezzag,

I purchased mine from Johny Appleseed 1.5 yrs ago - no idea who is the cheapest at the moment.

Re their mount - it is brilliant. From Melbourne I have done Flinders Ranges twice, Oodnaddata track, Birdsville track and , Cordillo Downs, Innamincka with no issues at all.

Highly recommend the 660 and the mount.

Sorry PBee

Not much pointing him to that subforum, hasn't been a post for about 10mths re a Zumo 660, a man would probably die of old age wanting for a reply:D

I have a Zumo 660, bought in Wales last year when my Zumo 550 failed.
Very happy with it in Europe, not so sure back here in Oz. I live in East Gippsland
It dosen't recognise minor roads around here.

Can attest to its robust construction, it bounced out of the Garmin holder after the bike hit a big pothole at about 80kph and hit the deck, a couple of scraps but still works.

Replaced the holder with TT's latest more secure holder. Dead easy to fit the TT holder, even with handle bar high risers. Plug into the aux socket UNDER the top cover (sits above the battery) and it switches off after 30 seconds

Overall I'd give it 7 out of ten

Regards

Cheepest would have to be Johnny Appleseed.
The zumo 660 comes with a ram mount and all the fittings you need to attach it
to the handlebars

Hi Chris,
Download/get a copy of Shonky maps (FREE) about 300Mb
http://shonkylogic.net/shonkymaps/
Put it on a Micro SD card & insert it in the 660 and you will have
a very good set of minor road maps all round Oz.

As for the OP, I got my 660 from GPSOZ.

Zumo 660 "cheap"

Ryda are now doing them for $528 since the new LM350 came out. But I like media player and BT, LM350 doesn't have Media Player. So I bought the Marked down 660.

Just wish I could find some simple instructions on how to get Shonky maps loaded on it! It must be so simple that no-one has bothered to write instructions, but for someone like em that has NEVER loaded Topos into a GPS, I got no idea!:huh
