Viva la Baja! 2012 Baja 1k Shaffer motorsports #401
Bikes are already on course as I type this. I made it from LA to Guerrero Negro last night. So for the first time ever, I missed the start of the bikes, trucks, and the start in general. That's what a peninsula run will do.

I'm chasing from El Arco to San Ignacio. Then hopscotching all the way to La Paz.

Here some info from one of the Co drivers:
race day, There should be a link on this page somewhere for live tracking of the whole event. The #401 racecar will have a tracker on board and you should be able to follow us and our competitors live all throughout the race. sitepages=SCORE

Also, there will be some live coverage here:

And somewhere in there, there will be a link to the live "Weatherman" radio feed.

Thats about all for now.

íViva la Baja!

Wish us luck!

Good luck, Hugo.

Of course, you will have to come back up here to retell the story first hand. :D

Thanks for all the positive thoughts! HereHere is a note from our driver slash owner:
quick update from LaPaz

We made it in at about 10 last night, unofficially finishing second in class. Like all teams we had our shares of issues, a bad stuck in silt moment and putting the car on it's lid. Lukily the latter was at low speed and set off by an obtacle avoidance maneuver in low visibility (dust) and a rain rut.

Smaller issues like an inop sequential gear indicator, a GPS the would flip it's image upside down, a dieing fuel pump and a broken rear limit strap had us passing the same cars again and again, eating away at our progress. The no wind dusty conditions was a major hinderance in making real progress for all.

The chase crew did not have it easy either, with no tracking and a race car radio that worked when it wanted to, coodinating people was tough.

In the end we made it and are very happy with that.

We'll post more latter, when we've recovered.

Cheers from La Paz Daniel
