Is there a way for me to be notified when a particular inmate posts? Is that what Contacts in my profile is for? Does that show up on their list that I have added them as a contact, as I dont particularly want to bother them, I just think what they say is worth listening to.

AFAIK you can only get notification from subscribed threads and/or PMs, not specific inmates replying to a thread.
