Raspberry Pi
Just took the plunge. Been a fan of Linux for awhile. Like the minimalist approach here. Minimalist...yeah! Didn't go minimalist on the case I got for it but, that's kinda how I roll! :D
Anyone else running one of these? The whole computer: https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphot...33175835_n.jpg The (over the top) case I got for it: https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphot...27907980_n.jpg |
Interesting, tell me more... What does it do? Whats it for? Can it browse interweb porn?

wow, thanks! i'd read about these a while ago, before they were a reality. I'd been interested in seeing what they could be used for, but I completly forgot about them till you posted this!
|
I plan on getting one or two, mainly just to play with (robotics, servo controller etc etc) and possibly one to run a 24/7 webcam I have out in the garage.
|
I must have one for a media server! XBMC here I come. Can you post a link to where you bought that case, I love it!
Thanks. |

I donno. Have you seen how expensive legos are these day? :huh
|
|
Where'd you get it? Last I checked the US seller was out of stock with like 7200 on pre-order

Edit: Just went on Amazon and Lego wants 60 bucks for 9 pieces :eek they are the big bottom ones.....larger than the pi but still they probably cost 4-6 cents each to make. |
I've been interested and reading about these. Wired had the top ten things to do with a Pi. 6 or 7 of those 10 was putting them in fancy cases.
What are you doing with it? And what did you have to do to set it up? |
If I was going to replace my router....no, I wouldn't use this.
XMBC client perhaps? Seems that most blu-ray players have a DLNA client these days. Arduino is better for instrumentation and virtually everything else that doesn't require video output. I guess I don't understand why these things exist. Hopefully someone figures something out soon. |

35 dollars, 5 dollar mouse, 5 dollar keyboard, and you're good to go. Just hook it up to your TV. |
