Wet Leaves Non-Epic Fail
This morning. In the rain. In the early-morning dark. In the alley behind my house, after a journey of 40 feet. Estimated speed: 0.8 mph. Front tire, meet pile of soaking leaves. Slide to the left, fall to the right. Feel stupid.
As stupid as this sounds, and as non-impactful as this crash was, there was a lesson in there: Don't be distracted! I was thinking about work, thinking about a small argument I had just had with my wife, and worrying about as-of-yet un-purchased Christmas gifts. I was listening to music, and still adjusting my gear.
Without a doubt, if I had cleared my head and focused on pulling out of the driveway, I wouldn't have fallen at all. :deal
No injury (ATGATT) and no damage beyond a tiny scuff on my right mirror backing.
Don't do that.
Center stands, wet leaves, wet grass clippings, and a garden hose (they roll) are all things that have in the past caused an embarrassing drop.
or assume normal resting position.
