Costa Rica
Anybody going soon?
I need to get some parts down to my buddy there, cold cerveza if you can help out.....:evil Also, if anyone is interested in good single track riding down there, pm me. My next trip down should be in Feb. |
I just got back from there. I was right at the weight limit of my luggage anyway 49.5 pounds out of an allowed 50.
I would love to spend a week there on my XR650L. |
I think the regulator would have made it under the weight! Fly taca and they let you take 2 bags free.
Check out my youtube or FB page sometime..... |
Just checked my Taca millas and it looks like I have a free ticket or two, woohoo!
First half of Feb is the plan, LAX - SJO :1drink |
PM sent
Let me know if you still need something delivered.

i'm trying to get a group of guys to maybe rent some bikes and do some riding -sounds like you know costa rica and where to ride
any good areas for single track and maybe a map ? we would like to maybe rent a place or hotel it in one spot and ride the area for 3 or 4 days returning to a home base every nite . i love saddle baging but some of the guys, that may go -i don't think could handle a full 3 or 4 days riding in a row. any info would be great |

day or two
So this may be a long shot, but I am headed to Costa Rica in March for a Habitat for Humanity build in Las Vueltas. The build finishes up on Sat. March 16, and I don't leave San Jose till Tues. the 19th. I was thinking about renting a bike - I have done a 10 day self-guided riding tour through MotoDiscovery several years ago, so I am familiar with the condition of the roads. I won't have gear with me for dirtbiking, but I will have boots, gloves, long pants and a jacket. Am I crazy to see if anyone would be up for playing tour guide on a day road ride? Obviously I would need to borrow/rent a helmet and bike. Suggestions?:ear I currently own a KTM 950 and a 525, and can give a long list of references as to my riding abilities if anyone is considering a loaner. :ricky
Pura Vida! Oh and if anyone needs small parts transported, let me know. I travel light, carry-on only. :norton |

The cheapest rental is an xr250 from WildRiders, $50 The orange rental company quoted me $295 for a guided day (enduro) ride... https://www.mototourscostarica.com/D...f_Rentals.html These guys are pretty good; https://www.mototourscostarica.com/D...f_Rentals.html |
Great thanks! I'm hoping a tico will see this and have a day off...

I found a shipping company, MariaBarquero, about $200 and 3-4 weeks door to door. Still cheaper than buying the parts down there :deal My next trip down is in July. |
