The Norton thread!
Can't see a specific Norton thread. So If you like bikes that mark their territory and vibrate across the garage floor-lets see them:D
This is my MKIII at home in Medellin Colombia
Now with the boss woman!
A 53 Dommie gathering dust in Cali Colombia
Going to see about a rescue on Monday!
I ride this '73 850 Interstate a lot, have had it about two years, also had a '69 750 Roadster long ago....
I have my MK2 since -94, bought it used from Chicago, shipped it to Paris and here in San Francisco since 2000. Went through some transformation: mk3 rear wheel with R1 rear caliper, front Luchier brake, belt drive, hydraulic clutch...Till -09 when it was destroyed in a collision with a 1198. Here it is now (before the Alton electric starter, just installed).
Heres a picture of my mate in the 80's on his 850
Same bike as it looks now
Thats me at the back 26 years ago with another friends 750 Commando. He bought that when he was 17 for £400, he's still got the bike and despite being crashed, catching fire and being mercilessly thrashed for years and covering well over 100,000 miles is still going strong with the original engine. - No luxury of garages in those days.
My '74 I waited 38 years to get

I've been riding the Commando since 1977 and it's the "therapy" ride.

1972 Norton Dunstall
Here is my 1972 Norton 750 Commando Combat with Dunstall fiberglass (Except the tail section which is a re-pop of a production racer tail from Norvil in the UK). Brutal on the back, if you are not careful it will break your foot starting it, drops oul if you don't run it every week, typical Norton.
I am working on a 400es too... Glad to see another one!!
850 Commando- all hopped up- dry clutch, belt drive kit, 4S cam, Black Diamond valves, etc. etc.
Smooth and fast.
My 72 Combat I bought 2 years ago on a recent 1000 km trip around the mid North Island.
Even in the middle of (earth) nowhere you can get a latte......didn't see any Hobbits though...
Crap! Wish I could figure out how to download a picture,,,,I'd like to show off my bikes.........
These Nortons belong to a couple of my mates
