We have done both our M72D and our Enduro sidecar onto the DR as well as supplied mounts for many other sidecars.

Nice!

THANKS, I have a few items left to finish but after a year of playing around with it as time allowed - I think it's done! I want to get a vinyl cover that I can snap on/off, perhaps a small windscreen and maybe even line the interior with linex or rhinoliner. Then It'll be really done.

What took me the longest to do on the sidecar was to install a wall behind the seat and the trunk lid. It didn't come with those so I made them - with little to no metal skills, I think I pulled it off OK. Of course, the guy I had paint it did an outstanding job cleaning up some of my mess.....:D

Now it's time to ride as the weather and schedules cooperate.

Hey, Simitar after looking at the threads and seeing a few others, what are your thoughts about your hack? Are you happy with the Velorex? Looking for a more off-road capable rig like the DMC dual sport? .....

Hello Dave,
I am pretty happy with the Velorex. I wish it was a little easier to get in out. My wife can get in ok but needs a sky hook to get out. Because of this she will not ride anymore. Some day I may do the Johnny Sweet modification.

The reason I purchased the sidecar was price. I paid less the $500.00 for the car. I did buy the up grade swing arm and installed a shock from a Harley sportster. I also purchased subframe from DMC.

Who?

What's the Johnnie Sweet modification?

Hello Dave,
Johnny Sweet modified the front upper body so it would lift up for easy entrance for a guy in Alabama. He wrote a nice long article in the United Sidecar Association forum posted October 2, 2012. He included how it was done with pictures of the finished product.

Thanks
Rick Miller

Looks great. A lot to be said for a nice colour match.

Paint

The paint is a VERY close match, but not exact. Apparently, Suzuki and Colorite are the only companies that produce a match and they are not cheap by any measure. I couldn't justify what they were asking, so I got as close as I could. It came out OK.

Thanks for the compliment on the bike. I like it.

It's 81 degrees here in Florida today so going out for a ride.

Sweet Johnnie Mod

Thanks for the pics.

Looks like a great mod. Easier to load an unload people and equipment. I wonder how tight the seals are.

I think the Sputniks do that as well front and rear....
