Front brake line lengths

Hi all,

I have a 03 950 Adventure, non abs with a high guard (not S model). The previous owner put some brake lines on that are too long and one is curled up into a loop near the dash.
I want to order a set of lines of correct length. Could anyone measure the lengths of there`s if you have the same set up?
I dont mind 2 complete separate lines. I think the rh side one is about 1300 mm. The guy I am looking to order from said the lh side one might be 25mm longer, but this dosnt seem enough to me.

Or there might be a set from a supplier made up already. I couldnt find any though.

Thanks if you can help.
Cheers

Thanks for that info, but I have a high guard. I`m not sure if that brake line has the width to clear it. I dont suppose you have a pic of where they split and how you fixed them to the tripple?

I don't have the picture. The line comes directly down from the bars to the top of the bottom part of the triple, and there it branches into the two lines. There is a little plastic part that screws to the top of the triple. Look up the difference in the two setups via any KTM fiche online.

I've seen one or two riders with a high fender use this setup but run the lines on the outside of the forks, like in this image I "borrowed" from the 2013 Dakar:

Here's another link to a thread about the high fender mod on the 990. There are numerous threads like this out there: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=296490

Try this: http://www.lmgtfy.com/?q=site%3Aadvr...90+high+fender

If I were you, I'd look at copying what people are doing to the 990Rs when the high fender is installed. Just avoid buying the brake lines for the ABS model. I did that originally, and there is no way that this will work.

As noted in my thread, I wanted to change away from the old standard setup that used the crossover link that ran on top of the low front fender because that can create a bit of a problem: http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=667236 :huh

I immediately started researching how to change that original setup after watching Lost Rider's crash. Imagine if that had happened on a surface where the front tire had a little more grip. :eek1

The throttle side is 38 inches (36 will work too, but it would have to be run down the back of the fork)

The clutch side is 44 inches (?) if you're running a rally setup: down the throttle side fork, across the top of the of the bottom triple, then down the clutch side clamp. I'm at work now, but I'll check it when I get home. I use rubber coated "P" clamps to hold the line and screw down into the top of the triple.

Like in the rally bike picture above, all of the cable flex happens below the cockpit, I don't want anything moving around in side the fairing/cockpit area.
