1 GS owner to another GS owner (off road riding boots)

This maybe not the proper forum for this question but I feel being among brothers I can ask it. What kind of foot wear if you ride off road do you wear?

Sidi Crossfire....fits like a glove and no break-in required. And if you like riding with sharp footpegs, the soles can be replaced in a few minutes (just make sure you have extra sole 1/4 turn screws just in case the front ones wear out).

Sidi Adventure Rain I wear when I ride off road, Yoda. The proper ones with GoreTex, not the cheap Lorica ones.

+1 for Crossfire. Great boots.

cchoc 02-06-2013 06:15 AM

Sidi Adventure Goretex.

Sidi Adventure Goretex:D

I have the Sidi Adventure Goretex as well, but they do not offer anywhere near the same support and protection as the Crossfire.

I used to own a KLR, so I'm still getting over being a cheap ass. I picked up some AlpineStars Tech 6's out of the fleamarket for around a benjamin. I've had no complaints for the price! Saved my ankles more times than I can remember.

I don't wear dirt bike boots on my stone road touring bike.

Alpinestars Tech 2

Wrong question, you should have asked, "Do if you tuck your riding pants into your boots?

Ceri JC 02-06-2013 07:51 AM

Alpinestars Tech 3.

I don't believe in waterproof boots for dirt riding; it's too wet in the UK and I do too many river crossings. A pair of Sealskinz socks with non-waterproof boots is what works for me.

jengel451 02-06-2013 10:34 AM

If I plan to touch dirt, need to stand on the pegs to ride through something, or need to dab. No question. Full MX boots. Tech 7's, I've worn for multi day rides, no problem.

If i'm going to ride 100% pavement, I have A-Star Touring Goretex.

Race track. S-MX's

Since I crushed many bones in my foot in a crash years ago i'm even more careful about my gear than I used to be. Nothing will stop every injury, but skimping is not an option.

+1 :clap. Comfortable and good protection. I have a pair of Gaerne SG 12s that are the best off road boots I've ever had but I feel like the 'stich boots are the best all rounder. But what the hell do I know?
