George Washington Forest Dirt Tracks

A few tracks from George Washington Forest. Dictum Ridge and 2nd mountain I've haven't rode yet. Those should be reserved for those on little bikes (with a death wish...or a rescue buddy with an ATV with a winch). Warmup and Cooldown are big bike friendly. MainEvent is not recommended for big bikes. I am not responsible for you :D

Just a friendly heads up. The southern entrances off Rt 33 for Dictum Ridge and Second mountain are rarely open anymore. However the trails do connect to one another and you can combine the two to create a loop. However the only entrance you can count on would be from the north off Long Run Rd.

It's a fun loop and I'd rate it as a solid intermediate on a small bike, especially the southern end of it which is marked "Advanced ATV only". The loop is called Rocky Run Trail by the NFS. I wouldn't recommend taking a big bike on it unless your last name is "Lewis" and your first name is "Jimmy".

It would have been a more fair statement to indicate I was remiss in documenting the gate. According the USFS Motor Vehicle Use Map (MVUM), it is always open 10/01-01/10.
