If the fernertner valve gets gummed up it can cause the header to get too hot on one side. Loosen the gimble nut a quarter turn and you should get two identical pipes.

They are suppose to be a very solid tire with a hard compound so running the small tire probably won't cause you any problems. That being said I'm waiting for the TKC70 in full width for my wet head.
