My blocking plug was from a superduke and therefore didn't fit the adventure (according to KTM).

Good you can swap alarms so easily but not sure what it means for security really.

I didn't get any answer here but in case it helps anyone I bought a new alarm. That worked (plug and play) and everything was fine. I was hoping not to spend 300 Euro but had to.

I've just noticed that my RHS fuel tank is scorched close to where the exhaust runs close to it on my '07 990 Adv. I've not noticed any fuel leaks or pressurised taks referred to in other threads.

sounds like flat battery - the rev counter jumps up in between attempts right? happens rather too often to me for some reason - its my only gripe with the bike at all mind
