I went to PEP boys and got some thick fuel safe gasket and some sealant. Cut a donut and then used the sealant to hold it to the cap. It has been that way for at least 8 years...

I wouldn't expect there to not be heat coming off unless stopped. The radiator deflectors will help at speed but at commute speeds I wouldn't expect change. But a question myself my 05 above 100...
