Not really. I've had EFI toys and cages for years. The carb on a DR650 is simple, and hasn't caused me any trouble starting off. Even my '89 Radian starts on cold mornings...in Chicago winters....

It depends on the bike. My 2 bikes' bars move at different angles. I just push. I don't think about the angle. The parts of the bike determine the travel arc of the bar I'm pushing on.
