I had all my attention on the linkage and the rotor, what I did not see or even look at was the muffler side where I found the brake pad was completely GONE! The drive shaft side was still useable...

Just got a reply from the Dealer and they said...

It may be a pebble in the linkage and or the caliper has something lodged inbetween it and the disc... Will give it a good clean in the am and see if that will at the least make the noise less...

Cable protector's would also be a good idea...

I when down to Lowes and bought a roll of cable protector used to bundle wires and this kept them from rubbing on the triple fork... Cheap fix and after 2 years no signs of wear of the cable yet!
