I went from KTM950 to RoadKing last summer. Liked the torque and comfort but not much else. Sold it last month, fortunately for bit more than II paid...

Good info. in this thread. Only thing I can add is a nice starting point to the day: Stick helmet in your home freezer before heading out. Adds a cold start to a hot day. Don't tell my wife.

6x0 and 9x0 are both in the heavyweight division. Both are great on long doubletrack or better dirt, but get tirirng -- for me anyway -- after a lot of tight stuff.

Having had both, the 9x0 is the closest to a swiss army knife. Does it all.

If you don't think you want to do much off road, go with the BMW. Overall a bit more comfort in differing conditions...

Glad problem seems resolved. My first act when my 06 950 runs rough a little bit is to add some fuel cleaner/water remover. Lot of funky fuel out there these days.

Why not use a portable unit? I have a Pioneer Inno unit for XM and it moves between house, bike and SUV. Plus it records the programs/music and MP3s. So its useful on a bicycle or walking as well....
