I bought one of those sliders for a friends '83 XL600 that I worked on.
It fits perfectly. Durability is yet to be determined as I only installed it a few months ago. So far, so good.

The biggest issue with these bikes is the stator. After years of being in a hot oil bath they tend to go south. Lots of discussion about them in this thread....
