can anyone comment on the routing of the tach cable on a 84 xt 250? mounted to the top of the engine and not the crankcase.

the cable seems way to long and currently runs across the fuel tank...

because the chain gets tighter the lower the bike gets. most people I've seen doing this for the first time including myself have a tendency to overtighten. looks ok unloaded, ends up with no play on...

mine usually stay quiet, but moan when its damp or when they're wet.

All brakes squeel. The single caliper brembo's on the f650/g650 seem to do it more than any other. But trying to fix it is a waste of time. If all the parameters are right (or wrong in this case)...

looks like that bottom ball joint on the shock has seized. anyone have any experience with replacing these? They seem to be held by circlips. I hope this suggests they should come out pretty easily....
