I can't imagine a cb1000 being underwhelming. I'm at the point in my life where overall competence of design is the single most important feature of a motorcycle. This bike has that in spades.

Can't speak for the new ones but my 01 speed triple was and anvil. Unfortunately, so was the seat. Get a corbin and the bike will take good care of you. Triumphs are crazy good motorcycles.
