Yes. This would be a great way to go. You can ride right into some very sweet tracks. It's a big place w/ no easy access to fuel once you leave Carlton. Map/GPS/fuel are your friends.

power-wise, It's docile enough for a new rider but still has enough low end for 2up riding. Belt drive & balanced motor make it pretty smooth for a twin. Mileage is good...
