Don't go with too many variables, you'll end up replacing unnecessary parts. check the TB's wiring connections. take these off and put them back on with electric contact cleaner.

Quality makes a huge difference. Had a couple chinese cheapo kits... junk, high quality, 50W, no delay, blablabla...BS... On high beam keep the halogen, but on low beam, a good HID all the way

Being in the auto industry this is general top clarification, it depends on how long to keep the bike. If you let the shop do all the service for you, and plan to keeping it, i'd say buy it...

I'd say, take the carbs out for a good cleanup, it sounds like you keep pushing carb cleaner gets it better, but a real clean up will make it 100%.

Flush the cooling system, bikes sitting develop...

That sounds like my 950 when the locking clip of the oil pressure valve came off (under the clutch basket). In +4k ervs, would be ok, but under that would rattle like crazy... since the locking clip...
