I'd crank it on the starter (with the plug leads off & grounded so it doesn't start) to get the oil round the motor, crank for 10 seconds then let the starter cool for five-ten mins, repeat a few...

If you have an under tank Master cylinder they can be tricky to bleed, it helps to take it off the frame & tilt it slightly to help the air out if you're reverse bleeding.
