Wrong. The balancer is essentially a rigid system. The beads need the flex inherent in a suspended wheel.

I believe MCN did a test like you suggest and IIRC, they claimed it didn't work.

Don't know about the 1150, but my 1100 had rubber inserts in the pegs. Remove those and you automatically lower the pegs by at least 1/2".
