Kind of makes me wonder if manual transmissions might come back. A 1968 Honda Trail 90 would go 55.

The 1984 chart claimed 60mph top speed for the 125 Aero, 55 for the 125 Elite. My Elite goes 55 or a little more, but with me on it usually 54. OK for an old scooter.

Maybe rings and a valve job. Hardly over. I have 75,000 miles on a 1985 rebuild that eventually needed new rings and an exhaust valve. And that is on an antique.

Many of the bikes made now have the cylinder cast with the crankcase. If the bore needs work, the bike will be discarded. Sure it will last a long time, but look at what awaits when a modern bike...
